Fun day out for young and old
The museum houses one of the largest collections of still working steam engines in Netherlands From Saturday 10 to Sunday 25 February, the fire in the boiler will be stoked up and you can see the impressive machines in operation. Would you like to know how the machines work and what steam meant to you? has meant? Ask our engine drivers and tour guides, they will be happy to explain. The museum also presents the
history of the pumping station, one of the oldest intact steam pumping stations in the country, and you can see the 'Pumps for the Polder' exhibition.
Children's adventure
With miniature steam engines, you can make your own steam and discover what steam power does. A fun scavenger hunt is ready for you to playfully explore the museum. If you give the stoker a hand, you will be rewarded with a real 'heating diploma'. If the blacksmith is present in the old smithy of the pumping station, you can also earn a "forging diploma".
