Medemblik - On Saturday 4 November, the Steam Engine Museum on the Oosterdijk traditionally closes the steam season with a dazzling finale. The monumental 1869 steam pumping station is fairy lit and transformed into a 'castle of lights' that can be seen from afar in the darkness.

Stageheat Fire Show
Against this fairytale backdrop, Stageheat's fire artists perform a spectacular fire show with breathtaking fire acts. You will see fireballs thrown around on chains, fire swords with trailing long flames, fire fountains rising metres high into the air, fire fans and much more. The show, a unique spectacle with music and frenzied choreography, will take place on the museum grounds and will be performed three times between 6pm and 10pm. Come watch and enjoy this high-level entertainment!

The museum is under steam, the machines are running. Also outside in the machinery garden, some machines are put under steam and you can hear the grinding of the rotating buckets of the dredger mill illuminated with hundreds of lights from afar. In the festively lit museum depot, hot chocolate and mulled wine are waiting.

After Candlelight Evening, the museum temporarily closes its doors to reopen for visitors during the Christmas holidays. 

Parking 
Please park in the lot near the Regatta Centre tonight. From here you can use the free Citytours shuttle service that runs up and down between the museum and the pick-up point on the south side of the car park.
