Medemblik
For a piece of old Dutch culture, make sure to explore Medemblik. Old houses, narrow streets and picturesque facades will transport you back in time for little while. In case you can't get enough of it, pay a visit to Floris the Fifth's castle 'Radboud' with its impressive knights' hall and towers. Make sure not to miss the beautiful museums and monuments either, including the late Gothic church 'De Bonifatius' with its stunning stained glass windows, painted pillars and a unique Pieter Backer organ dating from 1671.
Enkhuizen
Attractions for big and small, young and old!
In the summer there is plenty to see in one of the fascinating museums in Enkhuizen. The Bottle Ship Museum and the Zuiderzee Museum are certainly worth a visit! Enkhuizen also has plenty to offer in the area of attractions, such as 'Sprookjeswonderland'. Playing, swimming, crafts, it is all possible in Enkhuizen. Come to Enkhuizen and be surprised.
Hoorn
Hoorn is known, both at home and abroad, for its beautiful inner harbor, its pleasant entourage, no fewer than 300 monumental buildings, the beautiful canals, the pleasant shopping streets and the perfect location on the IJsselmeer. The rich Dutch East India Company-related history of the city makes Hoorn a city with a unique identity.
Alkmaar
Alkmaar is known as the cheese city of the Netherlands, but that title only captures a part of the picture because this city in North Holland has much more to offer. There is a beautiful old center with plenty of monuments, lovely shopping areas, and numerous terraces, cafes, and restaurants. Additionally, there are excellent places to go shopping, the Stedelijk Museum, the Beer Museum, the Beatles Museum, and of course, the Cheese Museum.
