On Sunday 23 October, Shayenne Schaaf will demonstrate the art of glass blowing at the museum where she creates the most beautiful glass objects. For a small fee, you can get started yourself and make a figurine out of glass.
Attention Willy Carrots! On Saturday 22 and 29 October, the 'museum professor' will demonstrate experiments in which you can assist. He will show you how to demonstrate the relationship between volume and pressure using a bicycle pump and what steam condenses using a ladle filled with cold water. Or how to demonstrate the relationship between temperature and pressure using a pressure cooker with a pressure gauge and thermometer. It all sounds very complicated, but you don't need to be a genius to understand it. Demonstrations start at 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm.
Miniature steam engines
With miniature steam engines, you can make steam yourself and discover what steam power does. If you help the stoker keep the fire in the boiler burning, you will earn the 'assistant stoker's diploma'. A fun treasure hunt with search assignments is ready for you to explore the museum in a playful manner.
