Grave Carpet Theme Day at Radboud Castle
Medemblik -Sunday, 3 July, is the Grave Carpet theme day at Radboud Castle. The Grave Carpet is a unique long-term project in which a tapestry is made by volunteers in the medieval manner. They have been trained in this traditional way of embroidering specifically for this project.
During this day, the embroiderers can be found in the Knights' Hall, together with one or more of the tapestries. They will tell more about the project, such as which specific medieval techniques were used. They will also demonstrate how they set the embroidery stitches.
